The text has some good features. The book was culturally appropriate, but could highlight a greater diversity of researchers. Most of the descriptions and illustrations in these chapters and those below are useful ones that are equivalent to those in most other textbooks. A few are important to correct, especially given that we push students to understand the need for precise use of science terminology and vocabulary (e.g., Section 34.2 is titled "Nutrition and Energy Production," which might confuse a student who has learned that "energy can neither be created nor destroyed."). "Connection" sections (except for "Art") were for the most part excellent and bridged concepts with real-world issues.
